Clean sweep for O.O.B.A.C. at the Double Clout
O.O.B.A.C. archers took all three top places at the full 180 yard distance at
today's annual Double Clout event. Home archers swept the board for the Gents' 150 yard division too. The club would like to thank all the away archers who took a risk on the weather to turn out for the event which although cold and blustery seemed to be enjoyed by all. Special thanks go to the Savilles who made a long journey knowing they would miss the shooting just to return the Ladies' trophy from last year !

O.O.B.A.C. Recurve Championship retained by James Farrar
In a dramatic return to recurve archery from the cold, dark depths of twigchucking, James Farrar
retained his title as O.O.B.A.C. Senior Gent Recurve Champion narrowly
beating Tim Potkins into second. Inspired by his new bow Colin Hall
broke away from the chasing pack to claim third, while Zoe Paul took
the Senior Lady Recurve title against strong opposition. Check out the gallery for photos of the event. The O.O.B.A.C. Longbow Championships have been rescheduled for 11th November 2007.

New O.O.B.A.C. website goes live
After
a much-needed overhaul the new, revised O.O.B.A.C. website has finally
gone live. Please have a look around and if you have any suggestions,
comments, or problems please contact our
Webmaster. It's intended that this new site will be much more dynamic
and useful than the old one and should be updated pretty regularly with
both club-specific information and stuff that will hopefully be of some
vague interest to the archery community in general.

Stan (Aim4sport) O.O.B.A.C. coaching session Sunday 19th August
Stan from Aim4sport
is coming to see us on Sunday 19th august 2007 to do a session on bow
tuning / setup and technique - the guy really knows his stuff and has a
very good reputation among recurve archers nationwide so it should be a
useful session.
